Walking along the serene tiled walls of Gwanghalluwon Garden, you'll encounter MYEONGJIGAK (PISE), a traditional hanok established in the 1950s. Known as "MYEONGJI-JANG" and later "MYEONGJI Hotel," this celebrated destination fell silent in the early 1980s, leaving only its nameplate as a historical relic. Now, it has been reborn to welcome a new generation of travelers seeking both history and elegance.
MYEONGJIGAK consists of four traditional Hanok buildings: SARANG-CHAE, ANSARANG-CHAE, AN-CHAE, and RYEON. The SARANG-CHAE offers check-in services and breakfast for guests and operates as a café during other hours. The ANSARANG-CHAE is an exclusive space for guests, providing self-check-in and a welcome tea. The RYEON is a private bathhouse available by reservation, while the AN-CHAE consists of six serene Hanok rooms overlooking a central courtyard.
The SARANG-CHAE, the first space to greet guests at Myeongjigak, offers a carefully curated breakfast to begin your day.
Exclusively open to guests, the ANSARANG-CHAE provides an intimate setting to enjoy breakfast, freshly brewed coffee, and the tranquil atmosphere that Myeongjigak is known for.
For moments of deep relaxation, MYEONGJIGAK offers a private bathhouse named RYEON, designed exclusively for the comfort and rejuvenation of its guests.
