A small paradise in the mining town, where the heart is quiet and the mountains are in dialogue. Adagio stands for the slow tempo in music, the philosophy rooted behind Adagio Jinguashi: to slow down a little and truly appreciate the importance of moment-to-moment in life. These values are omnipresent in the beautiful scenery of this paradise. Located halfway up a hill between Jiufen in Ruifang and Jinguashi, an area rich in culture and history due to its former glory in mining days, Adagio Jinguashi enjoys exquisite views from its vantage point. To the west, visitors can see Keelung Mountain in the distance as well as Shuinan Cave and Yin Yang Sea. When turning towards the east, visitors can also appreciate the sights of the beautiful mountain village of Jiufen. A mere 40-minute drive from Taipei City, this place is a temporary shelter from the mundane, bustling city life.

Climbing up the mountain trail, guests will find the wood-paneled Adagio building. Upon arrival, guests can enjoy the aromas of incense complemented with a snack break, all prepared by a caring butler. All guestrooms come with large floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the hills and the North Coast. Enjoy a relaxing time at the lounge, including the Adagio Study on the second floor, which offers select books and classic films; the rooftop balcony where guests can practice morning yoga while encountering a mountain to gaze upon, the secluded pathway where you are faced with a tree to meditate under; and the rustic furnace, which is a nod to Jinguashi and Jiufen’s early mining days. Each room comes with a special eco bag containing a map of the local sightseeing destinations and specialty shops.
