A place to stop and take a breath

Located in the hills of Hupyeong-dong, Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, 'Stay Arret' has a special forest and view. The warmth of a hanok is combined with European sensibilities to create a special and different space. In French, 'arrêt' means 'stop'. It's a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take a moment to slow down and breathe.

'Stay Arret' consists of a living room, kitchen, bedroom, healing room, restroom, bathroom, and attic. It utilizes the structure of a hanok, but uses natural plaster as a finish to make it feel more cozy and comfortable. The healing room is a space for bathing, healing, and contemplation for the purpose of total relaxation. Uniquely, the room features a luxury hotel enamel bathtub with a European touch in the center of the room. The open space allows for a relaxing half-bath while taking in the scenery around the property. You can also relax in the design chair or listen to a song on the LP player. Due to its location in a residential neighborhood but at the end of a road, Stay Arret has a walkway forest of tall trees and views of old roofs in front of the building. The lush trees give you a sense of nature in the middle of the city, and the sound of rain on the roof and snow on the ground outside the large windows makes you look forward to the changing seasons. The kitchen is equipped with basic utensils and you can enjoy a quick meal at the wooden table. A small staircase off to the side of the kitchen leads to the attic. Curled up on the cushions, reading a book, and chatting, we felt like we had our own little hideaway.
