This building renovated the space where large-scale merchants often invited guests during the Meiji period in Japan. It is an old Japanese house that depicted the original design and tradition as much as possible, as well as expressing the feeling of being invited to a mansion in modern technique.
Azumi Setoda really reflects the local lifestyle and traditional way of life in this part of Japan. Although it is a sophisticated space, you can feel the beauty of traditional Japanese architecture as it preserves the original style of the mansion such as the paper sliding door (a bright door that adhered paper on the door frame) and garden etc.
