Where the waves come from
When the tide is coming in and the water is calm, it looks like the house is floating on water. 'Bolda' means 'calm' in the Jeju dialect. Twice a day, each time the tide of Jocheon comes up, you can enjoy a distinct and different view. The exterior building is lightly boxed in stone and finished with stone walls to highlight the natural colors of Jeju. Inside, the plants in each room influenced the placement of windows and furniture, the color of the interior finishes, and the choice of materials. All windows offer views of the sea and stone walls. Bolda consists of two room types: duplex and skip floor. The duplex is designed for two teams to live in privacy with vertical space separation, while the skip floor is a special space for one team.
Bolda offers the experience of floating on the sea, and at high tide, the water fills up to the stone garden in front of the house, creating a special moment. Along the way, you'll come across Bukchonpo Port, the breakwater, and the Yongcheon Water Bath. You can enjoy a swim with a view of the sea and relax in the open-air bath. Why not immerse your eyes, ears, and sense of smell in the rich Jeju sea?
