Hoshinoya Karuizawa is Japan's representative highland resort located at an altitude of approximately 900-1000m in Nagano Prefecture. Easy access by Shinkansen, allows convenient transportation from downtown Tokyo. 호시노야 가루이자와의 객실은 크게 세 타입으로 나뉘며, 각 객실은 아름다운 풍경을 유지하기 위해 지형에 맞게 만들어져 있다. 각 객실 타입마다 장점들이 있다. 산비탈에 자리 잡은 방은 손끝에서 숲을 느낄 수 있는 '야마로지'의 방, 강줄기를 따라 늘어서 잔잔하게 흐르는 물소리가 아늑하게 울려 퍼지는 '미즈나미'의 방, 그리고 '니와로지'의 방은 그곳에 펼쳐져 있던 가루이자와의 산을 느낄 수 있도록 정원에 우거진 나무들을 최대한 손질하지 않고 그대로 두었다. 방 안에도 가루이자와의 자연이 그대로 존재하고 있어 천장에 설치된 '풍루'라고 하는 통기구 덕분에 여름에도 딱 좋은 시원함이 유지된다. 겨울에는 온천의 열을 활용한 온돌이 방안을 발밑에서 따뜻하게 감싸는 공간으로 이뤄진다. 대지와 하나가 되어 만들어내는 편안함 속에서 마치 주민이 된 듯한 쾌적한 시간을 보낼 수 있다.


The rooms at Hoshinoya Karuizawa are divided into three types, each designed to fit the surrounding terrain and maintain a beautiful landscape. The room of Yamaroji, where you can feel the forest at your fingertips as it sits on a hillside. The room in Mizunami, where the gentle sound of flowing water echoes along the river, allows inner peace. And the Niwaroji room, where the trees in the vast garden spread out in front of you, gives you a sense of freedom and a feeling of the mountains of Karuizawa. The essence of Karuizawa is well integrated indoors as well, thanks to the ventilation system installed on the ceiling. Permeates pleasant and cool vibes in the summer, while during winter, the ondol system using the heat of the hot springs warmly wraps your feet.
