Located in Sampho-ri village, Goseong, Gangwon Province, where the Seorojae is situated, the area is lush with greenery, aptly named 'Sunpo (荀浦)', meaning 'a lake full of grass'. Rather than going against nature, Seorojae chose an architectural arrangement that complies with it. It sought to become part of the natural scenery of this place rather than something grand and flamboyant. As a result, it was able to attain the unique serenity offered by the trees and the forest.
Upon entering, a vast garden unfolds. The pine trees that have been standing for a long time blend with the spatial arrangement of the garden, bestowing the beauty of nature. On one side of the garden, a multi-use space is arranged. It would be great to appreciate the view spread beyond the window with a warm cup of tea.
This accommodation won the Best New Architecture Award at the 2022 Korea Architecture and Culture Awards. Enjoy the outstanding architectural beauty.
Each room includes a garden and is the closest accommodation to nature. Be comforted by nature's of nature.
I hope everyone who experiences each other will feel the slow flow of time here and have their own rest.
