At the very end of a narrow country road in Songdang-ri, on the eastern side of Jeju, you’ll find a quiet village where time feels slower. This is where SIMSIM-JUTAEK quietly resides. Once the starting point of the village, where people often came and went, the area now holds only stillness. In this slow, hushed place where even the villagers’ footsteps no longer echo, SIMSIM-JUTAEK begins its own gentle rhythm—tucked into a story almost forgotten.
SIMSIM-JUTAEK consists of two houses: Wit-jip (the Upper House) and Arae-jip (the Lower House), connected by a central glass bridge. Each space can be enjoyed separately or as one, adapting to the way each guest chooses to stay.
The jacuzzi, connected seamlessly to the front yard of Wit-jip, is the perfect spot to share quiet conversations with loved ones. Bathed in warm sunlight and shaded by citrus and camellia trees, it offers a deeply restful moment within the day.
Beyond the windows of Arae-jip, a comforting view unfolds—Jeju’s soft hills (oreum) and rustic farmland stretch quietly into the distance. Inside, charming details and thoughtfully arranged pieces complete a space that gently holds your time.
The glass bridge that connects the two houses serves as both a respectful divide and a graceful union. When closed, it offers privacy; when open, it brings the two homes together. Through its transparent panels, a camellia tree comes into frame—like a living painting gifted by nature.
