In Woryeong-ri, Jeju, Wollyeong-Cave is a space where you can enjoy the unique natural environment and concentrate on your senses. There is a wildness to the atmosphere, and even the texture of the place, when light emanates from the reflection on the stones. After passing through the inviting entrance, a soft and organized space reveals itself to the visitor. Outside, the cactus field of Wolryeong provides a wonderful scenery. Through the combination and separation of stones, light, and gaze, Wollyeong-Cave consists of three main elements.
An indoor swimming pool, or 'Space of Water,' is built as an open structure with a taller than average floor height of 4 meters. There is also an open shower room with natural lighting, which gives the impression that you are in nature. There are two levels to the living room, so it appears to be in the middle of a cactus garden. A long dining table is adorned with basalt stones, giving the setting this unique modern cave aspect. As the cactus unfolds in the living room, I listen to quiet music and read a book. It is customary to light a brazier outside at sunset and concentrate on the sound of firewood burning. Each sense that has been forgotten in each independent area will gradually be reactivated.
Wollyeong CAVE has a private open air bath enveloped by basalt. Relieve your fatigue by taking a warm bath in the tub.
There is a private pool with terrace and a tall ceiling that is 4m high. It is for both indoors and outdoors, and you can enjoy a warm swim in the winter and cool breeze in the summer.
Wollyeong CAVE is located amid an endless cactus field. You can enjoy the cactus view in the living room.
