In Namhu-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongbuk, where the Jaamsan envelopes the back and a small river flows, there is 'Yulsiheon'. Yulsiheon that resembles Andong with a long history, is a hanok built in 1971 with a century old persimmon tree and chestnut tree in the spacious yard. The name Yulsiheon originated from the words chestnut tree Yul(栗), persimmon tree Si(柿), and house heon(軒). The host brought life back into this place after 50 years. Equipments and old goods were preserved as much as possible which recreated the time the host was born and raised, and eventually devised a house with cozy rural atmosphere.
There are numerous entertainments here depending on day, night, and season. You can spend time playing hide and seek and tag game in the yard during the day, and eat meat on caldron lid admiring the starry night sky and after dark. In summer, you can swim or go fishing at the nearby river, as well as go icefish fishing and spin tops on thick layers of ice in water. We became adults before we knew it, as everything passed by so quickly. Some people miss the warmth they felt at their grandmother's place, and others wish to form bonds with their younger selves. We hope you can return to your ordinary yet joyful childhood in Yulsiheon.
