Chucheon is a city in a basin of Gangwon Province surrounded by rivers and mountains and creates some dreamlike atmosphere with fog in almost every morning. “About Flow” is located in Sinbuk-eup, a town on a flat area of the basin of Chuncheon. Looking up from the flat area of basin, mountain terrains look splendid and feel all the more grandiose. About Flow was formerly a two-story wooden house, with the first floor taken by the parents and the second floor by children. After the children moved out to relocate themselves outside of the town for work, they decided to make most of the vacant space, by materializing ideas for About Flow.

Climbing up the stairs, you would run into a small space, which divides About Flow into two different themes – “rest” and “relief.” First, “about pause” is themed around rest. The main bedroom has a window stretching horizontally across the wall, presenting a picturesque scenery of Chuncheon. The second bedroom, on the other hand, has been created to be children-friendly to encourage both children and grown-ups have wonderful memories. Guests may also find a beam projector in the living room to enjoy watching movies of choice. The other space, “about interest” is created to enjoy leisure time. You may spend quality time with your loved ones over savory dishes in the dining room. With unique design idea, the study attracts guests to have some “me time,” reading books and keeping journals. From the mini terrace, you may have a bird’s eye view of the front yard and deck, and further ahead, natural landscape surrounding the house.

Packed with thoughtfulness of the host, the house feels comfortable, with the scenery from outside presenting marvelous mountains views. If you want to experience the genuine magnetism of About Flow, wake up in the early morning to take out a warm cup of coffee and a blanket to the terrace. You would have a scene of mystique created by sunrise and fog. If you were lucky enough, you would witness some clouds seamlessly flowing down mountain ridges. While you are staying in “About Flow,” you may want to leave yourself in the flow of rest, like water flows, in the space filled with sincerity and warmth. The host is always to welcome guests, with sincere wishes that guests may find small yet tangible delight in the midst of travelling.
