Offering a Quiet Island Environment
Dayspring Inn is situated in Renai Village, which is located on one of Taiwan's remotest islands Matsu, Nangan. Its open view of the sea makes it an ideal place for taking a break. Founded in 2001 by Liu Tianhsun and Chen Meisiang, it was formerly known as Sunshine Coast. The building was designed by Cheng Chihjen, a young architect and military member from Matsu at the time. The exterior of the building is composed of concrete as its main material, while the street is seemingly decorated. The buildings were constructed in a quiet neighborhood and drew a great deal of attention after completion.

The property was later acquired by Liu Haochen, who grew up in Matsu. He was particularly interested in accommodations as he was interested in both art and design. As of 2018, the design team "Biaugust Creation" was invited to redesign and renovate the building, transforming it into a space inspired by art and culture. The renewal led to the establishment of bookstores, specialty shops, and afternoon tea shops, which were well received. Exhibitions of fine art are held here from time to time, and exhibition spaces have been created for local artists and creative individuals based in Matsu. By participating in this exhibition, local residents and tourists will become more familiar with Matsu and its culture.

On an island, it is difficult to dispose of trash. The Dayspring Inn does not provide disposable products or bottled water as an eco-friendly stay, but only vegan fare.
There are no animal products such as meat, eggs, milk, or honey in any of the meals. There are also traditional Matsu foods, such as golden dumplings and the traditional rice dumplings "Mi Shi." You can experience Matsu's culture and creativity through various regional menus, and you can help the environment by choosing vegetarian foods. This place is intended to provide visitors an experience of slowing down one step, feeling the relationship between space and the surrounding environment, and having a wonderful vacation during their stay.
