On the steep uphill of Gahoe-dong in Bukchon Hanok Village, a stay, Gowoon is opened to invite guests to indulge themselves in ambiance with antiquity. Gowoon means clouds floating high up in the sky, and living up to the name, the picture window in the stay presents a panoramic scenery of Inwangsan Mountain, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Seoul downtown like clouds in the sky. And past the lengthy hallway, a space that sets itself apart from the outside world with its profound and mysterious atmosphere welcomes its visitors.

Gowoon consists of two units of buildings - spacious Ahn Chae and cozy Sarang Chae – and they are divided by the front yard to ensure privacy. While Anchae serves guests with a large living room, a hallway, two bedrooms, a powder room, and a bathroom, Sarangchae is made up of a smaller-sized bedroom, a spacious living room, and a bathroom. To create an atmosphere with antiquity, half of the ceiling is left with seokkarae, rafters while the rest of filled with modern design ideas. The significant part of the interior design idea is materialized with stones and wood, while bathrooms, in contrast, are sprinkled with a modern touch. And indirect lightings are designed to create a delicate atmosphere.

At the same time, Gowoon presents different scenes in every season. And looking out the window, the scenery will be soothing and calming. With the beautiful scenery of the front yard in the background, you may soak in the hot bath with special bath preparation made with mugwort. And after the relaxing bath time, you may spend some quality time watching movies. Indeed, after a fascinating day in Bukchon Hanok Village, you will be recharged with fresh energy, getting immersed in the mood of tranquility.
