Hado-ri, More Than a Memory
"Record: To document certain facts and keep them in memory, or such writings." Humans keep records for future reference. When the host of the Hado Diary visited Eastern Jeju while he was temporarily off work, he dreamed of one day living in this area because of the pleasant sounds of birds and the serene appearance of Hado-ri. Hado Diary was created in order to offer guests a quiet, peaceful, and nature-filled space for relaxation.
In the form of a white drawing paper exterior, the Hado diary has two arched buildings, two rhombus-shaped buildings, and one double-story building labeled Page 1, 2, 3, 4, and Panorama. The words of Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho are cited and written on the exterior of Page 1 building and Page 2 building. One of his representative works, 'The Alchemist', is displayed inside so that those staying can be inspired. Page 3 building has lines from the movie 'About Time' printed on the exterior, along with props and books related to the film to highlight the record. Furthermore, antique furniture and props reminiscent of Southeast Asian design were incorporated into the decor to create an exotic atmosphere. An arched roof bedroom is located on the third floor of the Page 4 building, overlooking an expansive carrot field and Udo Island. It is equipped with a 55-inch QLED TV, so guests can watch Netflix in the bedroom. As well, an assortment of magazines and books appropriate for reading are available in the room. The first floor features Geneva classical speakers, hand drip coffee sets, and a long wooden bar table, suitable for enjoying wine and food. The work of David Hockney, 'Montcalm Interior at 7 o'clock', is displayed to accentuate the area. Located on the second floor, there is a bathtub with a view of the forest. This is the perfect place to take a relaxing bath. The Panorama Room, which is capable of accommodating up to eight guests, includes two bedrooms and an attic, so staying with a large group is not a problem.
During the stay in the Hado Diary, a healthy breakfast made with specialties of Jeju is served free of charge. While enjoying the open view of the wide grass field and pine forest during breakfast, you'll be ready to have a refreshing day. Located on Jeju Island's Eastside, Olle Trail and Migratory Bird Trail are nearby, and you can watch the sunrise there in the early morning hours. In addition, Hado Beach is only 10 minutes walk away, so you can go to the beach whenever you wish. Around 7 p.m., as the sun begins to set, outdoor movies are screened, which are great for enjoying with simple snacks. We invite you to take advantage of our Hado Diary to recharge while experiencing the warm and cozy atmosphere of Jeju.
