In the east side of Jeju, Harunharu is located in the back pocket of Jocheon Village. It’s a stay where a new building with a gable roof and a stone house finished with basalt balance each other. The building doesn’t hurt the landscape of the cozy neighborhood but instead perfectly blends, while small yet adorable details decorated with care in the house stand out. It’s the destination where I want to find when I need a break from my hectic life.
Harunharu has a stone house, rooftop garden house and two separate houses. The stone house has a main unit and a separate single house and a rooftop garden has two floors. Vintage lighting, a kitchen full of sunshine, an outdoor terrace with the view of the sea, and a bedroom where you can see the tranquil beach—everything is designed to present guests a relaxing time and comfort. You can also enjoy a barbecue in the yard where mandarin trees grow.
The host left the mainland and moved to Jeju Island. He created this placed hoping that staying here can be a part of people’s trip, rather than a conventional concept of hotel. Since the sea Harunharu faces is a bay adjacent to the village, the waves are mild. Why don’t you watch the sunset at the outdoor terrace or the rooftop garden and feel the slow-moving day, letting yourself have a break from everything?
