Passing by the vintage gold signage, you will face the marvel stair case. When you climb these stairs, the mild soft scent of trees will engulf your senses. It was a townhouse that belonged to a large family they turned into the most modern hotel in the area in the 1960s.
The house is a four-story building, with quite a different structure from other regular hotels. From the second to the fourth floor, there’s a library, living room and a dining room, along with other guestrooms. On the way to the guestroom, guests will pass the lounge and kitchen where they will be able to meet other travelers and share their stories. Under the theme “Whose room?” artists are regularly invited to exhibit their work at the guestroom. You can see the host’s gesture to allow guests to experience art even during their trip.
Besides the architectural design that holds the value of local history, homemade homewear and traditional snacks are provided for guests. You can enjoy other details of the house by simply staying here. Furthermore, the house hosts a lecture, performance and cooking class where you can learn about Taiwan’s present and historical past. You can also use the app developed by the house and discover the history and culture of the city that only the locals know. The house itself will be a time machine to take a peek into the glorious history of Taiwan.
