Hongje-yeonga is located in a quiet residential area in Hongje-dong, Gangneung-si. The place is over five decades old with traces of time left everywhere in the house. The number of little shops such as cafes and bakeries that reflect the characteristics of the region are gradually increasing in Hongje-dong, along with Gyo-dong, a neighboring area. When you walk down the alley near Hongje-yeonga you will find yourself immersed in the excitement of experiencing the unfamiliar but new every time you turn a corner.
You will have the whole house to yourself at Hongje-yeonga that can accommodate two to three persons. The simple and uncluttered interior design offers a warm and cozy atmosphere created by the solidity of time. The furniture and items that reflect the host couple’s taste are uncluttered and modern despite the foundation of an older home. The attic retaining its old structure is designed to let you get a view of the entire house at a glance from above. The evergreen spindle in the front yard looks like picture of nature placed in a frame. The host designed the house in a way that you would have a view of every space of the house from the living room in an attempt to help reduce the fatigue you may feel.
Hongje-yeonga offers the warmth and comfort of an older home where you can build memories with ones you care about. Take the time to relax and watch a movie as you enjoy the excitement of being surrounded by the unfamiliar. A beam projector is available for you to play OTT movies for a relaxing movie time you’ve been waiting for. Awakening your senses with soft music and aroma of coffee and tea will make the trip even more delightful. After a good rest, you may explore Hongje-dong. You will be amazed to see breweries where you can taste local beer, deli and grocery specializing in wine, and new and established restaurants just within a ten-minute walk.
