Located in the heart of Takachihomine Kirishima, designated as Japan's first national park, Kai Kirishima is an inn where guests may experience nature's magnificence through its stunning scenery that changes hourly. All guest rooms at Kai Kirishima include panoramic views of Kirishima. Furniture such as sofas and beds are positioned in front of the window to maximize your appreciation of the surrounding nature. In addition, the overall tone of the interior is lowered to convey the tranquility of the mind. Satsumawashi (traditional Satsuma paper), art inspired by Oshima Tsumugi (a 1300-year-old staining procedure), and Satsumasuzu (traditional crafts designated by Koshima Prefecture) are ubiquitous. There are also rooms with open-air bathrooms, allowing you to relax in a secluded space while gazing at Sakurajima. Terrace, located on the third floor of the guest room building, is a guest-use place with a nice outlook. You can savor Kaiseki delicacies prepared with seasonal vegetables and raw seafood. The main course is Kagoshima's black pork shabu shabu, which is served in the shape of petals. You can spend a pleasant time carefully sipping Satsuma Soju, a Kagoshima local spirit. The hot spring at Kai Kirishima is located in a unique location about 50 meters from the guest room building via slope car. When you exit the indoor bath and enter the open-air bath, a field of silver grass spreads out in front of you. Beyond that, Sakurajima can see a mysterious vista that never gets old, even when viewed from the perspective of floating in Kinkoman. If you soak in a hot spring while watching the rich nature transform gradually over time, you will feel your body and mind being cured.  You will appreciate the mist that expresses the story of the myth passed down to Kirishima and create beautiful memories unique to Kai Kirishima.
