Experience Japanese Culture at Nagato Yumoto Onsen
Due to the development of a precipitated shoreline and subduction coasts, Yamaguchi Prefecture, located in the southwest of Honshu, Japan, has several islands along the East Sea and Setonaikai beaches. Also, this prefecture at the westernmost tip of Honshu has been heavily influenced by the continental culture, as a result, has many prehistoric remains. "Kai Nagato," the 16th facility of the KAI BRAND, is located near the Akebono Bridge on the Otosure River, which flows through the heart of the Nagato Yumoto Onsen, a riverside hot spring surrounded by mountains in northern Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is a resort where you may enjoy the rich culture of the region under the concept of Ochaya Yashiki, which has been around for a long time.

The lobby and guest rooms are designed to preserve the Samurai culture. KAI Nagato's guest rooms are designed with the theme of "Ochaya Yashiki" (a resting/lodging facility where Japanese generals from the Edo period rested on their way to Kyoto, the old capital) that has been around for a long time in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The head of the bed is decorated with Tokuji Washi, a cultural property of Yamaguchi City. There are a total of four room types containing the restrained beauty and essence unique to Japanese culture that truly stands out.

Kai Nagato is the first Kai brand to open an AKEBONO Cafe that is open to the general public. Take a walk around the hot spring town with Torayaki and enjoy drinks made with Yamaguchi Prefecture's original tangerine jam, "Yuzuki Nagato.," will surely be a memorable stroll. Amongst the many activities available, you can make your own fan using Akamazuri inkstones formed from red clay, which is also a trademark of the region. There is also a separate lounge after bathing where you can unwind after a hot spring bath. How does it all sound to make cherishable memories with loved ones, while experiencing wide range of things to do at KAI Nagato?
