Inviting you on an authentic, elegant journey—a foray into Doi's core
Loquat Nishi-Izu stands as the sole Italian Auberge that has rejuvenated the charm of the mansion that encapsulates the aesthetics of the prominent Doi family of Shizuoka Prefecture, a legacy spanning almost 300 years. The term "Auberge" in French refers to a restaurant with accommodation facilities. The name "Loquat" is derived from the mythical fruit "Bipa," which can only be found and seen in the Doi region during early summer. Careful handling is essential for the Bipa fruit, ensuring it isn't transplanted elsewhere. Symbolically anchored in the Doi region, Loquat Nishi-Izu is revered much like the delicate Bipa fruit. Staying at Nishi-Izu allows one to bask in its unique light and breeze, offering an experience exclusively tailored to this location. Loquat Nishi-Izu represents genuine "value" over mere "luxury", nurturing the treasures and heartfelt history of Nishi-Izu.

Loquat Nishi-Izu comprises a main building, Ichinokura (first barn), Ninokura (second barn), Sannokura (third barn), and a garden. These spaces have been transformed into restaurants, cafes, and treatment spas. Rooms, rejuvenated while retaining the beauty of the old house, are available in Ninokura, Sannokura, and the Loquat villa called Villa Suguro. Ninokura, rich in barn history, boasts a single-layer space and a skip floor leading to a bedroom that exudes barn ambiance. A spacious terrace overlooking the Bipa tree features a natural open-air bath and daybed. Sannokura, characterized by its earthen barn walls, presents an open space with a ground floor living area beneath a preserved ancient beam ceiling. Here too, a private terrace comes equipped with a natural open-air bath. Villa Suguro, settled beside a river amidst mountains, is a sprawling renovation of a house exceeding 180 sq. meters, offering a fully private retreat, complete with two bedrooms, a living room, a dining kitchen, a library, and an open-air bath.

The ethos of Loquat Nishi-Izu is to offer something unprecedented, merely through staying here. At the Italian restaurant "Takeru Quindici" located in the main building, guests can savor diverse dishes made from the day's fresh Nishi-Izu ingredients, paired with a curated selection of over 50 Italian wines. One can enjoy a delightful meal while feeling the history in the large, tile-roofed Japanese house. The café bakery gelateria "SANTi" sells gelato made from Nishi-Izu lemons, strawberries, and Shuljigemi, along with freshly baked bread. At Ichinokura, guests are treated to a Bipa fruit treatment program, designed to bring out inner beauty. Consider indulging in a healing experience using oil extracted from the organic Bipa, paired with expert techniques. By night, Ichinokura transforms into a BAR, where one can relish Izu's craft beer and Loquat original cocktails inspired by Nishi-Izu's signature citrus.
