Capturing 100 Years of History in Nature
Cheongsong, a UNESCO world geological park overlooking green pine trees and strange rocks, and Deokcheon Village, with its tiled houses, are oases of unspoiled natural beauty and peaceful relaxation. This is Songjeong Historic House, where you can enjoy the sounds of birds and scenery filled with firewood. In 1914, Songjeong Historic House was designated as a cultural property of Gyeongsangbuk-do. As a result of its classic Confucian arrangement order of the noblemen during the Joseon Dynasty and the distinctive features of the modern era, it is regarded as an important architectural building throughout the history of architecture.

Songsjeong Historic House is a traditional house that offers a glimpse into the high society of the late Joseon Dynasty. Arrangements of Sarangchae (a reception house), Anchae (the main house), and Byeolchae (an annex house) are arranged in a square shape. There are large gate quarters, a spacious garden, a yard, and the Sarangchae on the property. After passing through the small gate adjacent to the Sarangchae and the stepping stone, there is a courtyard and the main house. The main house is a straight, line shaped traditional hanok consisting of two rooms (the main room, the upper room) and Daecheongmaru (a Korean wooden floor). It is equipped with Mungap (a Korean traditional cabinet), traditional 4-way shelf, a two-story hall, and a frame. From above the main house, you can see the Joseon royal garden as beautiful as a picture frame. Sarangchae is a "L" shaped traditional hanok consisting of two rooms (Sarangbang (a guest room), a Bookstore, and Sarangmaru (a wooden floor of Sarangbang). This room is equipped with traditional antique furniture such as Mungap, Sabang Table, Half-closed, folding screens, and ceramics. Furniture and props that bear traces of time appear to depict a scene that occurred a long time ago.

Songjeong Historic House only accepts one reservation per day so that you may enjoy a restful night's sleep without interruption. A shaggy, Korean breed, dog named Bokdol welcomes those who arrive. Of course, the host also welcomes them, as well as provides oriental medicine tea, and refreshments. Consider taking a day off in Cheongsong, which has many historical sites and is surrounded by nature. The Songjeong Historic House in Cheongsong offers a glimpse into the value of living a slow life. The experience of staying in an old house will be something you have never experienced before.
