This old house in Gangneung evokes memories of childhood home life. The host wanted to create a space that reflects modern lifestyle while immersing in the local culture. The name '잔잔 (Janzan),' which uses the Chinese character '潺' meaning 'gently flowing,' twice, hopes that the time of quiet conversation that flows gently during your journey will remain a good memory for everyone.
The host often thinks about the colors and scents of each city when traveling and incorporated the serenity of Gangneung with a blue accent. '잔잔' divides the yard into two spaces, '잔1' and '잔2,' each with a balcony that connects the outside and inside. Through the large folding doors on the balcony, you can fully experience the seasonal changes in Gangneung and the coziness of the neighborhood.
'잔잔' seeks to harmonize with local culture and coexist with the locality. Visitors to this place also become active participants in the local culture. They share and create recommended spaces near the stay with guests, and arrange experiential elements to provide an opportunity to experience local brands. It is hoped that travelers will enjoy their journey as if they have lived in this neighborhood for a long time, like the locals."
