Located in Chuncheon, Hoyeondam (好緣談) means "the story of a good relationship" in Korean. It is a hanok that has been inhabited by four generations since its construction in 1945, and for the hosts, it is a place of memories and a space to be passed down. Beyond the good stories that have been told in the house, we wanted to envision a future where new relationships and various stories are added to the space.
We organically arranged the basic elements of an ecosystem - earth, stone, water, and wood - to create a harmonious connection from the landscape to the interior space. He wanted to stimulate the five senses and give visitors to the stay a chance to breathe. Ho Yeon Dam consists of three gardens, a main house, and an outbuilding. The house is designed with the traditional beauty and curvature of a hanok, but reinterpreted with a modern perspective to add convenience and modernity. The two bedrooms are located on either side of the living room for a private retreat. The bedroom, living room, and kitchen have windows that allow you to enjoy the view of the garden. You can soak in the generously sized indoor jacuzzi and enjoy a relaxing conversation while surrounded by nature. The outbuilding space, where you can enjoy hot tea during the day, is transformed into a space where you can enjoy fire pits and wine at night.
There are three gardens, ‘Hwadu’, ‘Yeonhyang’, and ‘Dawon’, each with its own story. Enjoy the garden both inside and outside your stay.
There is a jacuzzi area with a beautiful view through the large window. Take a dip in the warm water and relax.
