A luxurious Ryokan trip in Nagano Prefecture
Located in Nagano Prefecture, about two and a half hours from Tokyo, the Hoshino Resort Kai Matsumoto is a ryokan located in Asama Hot Springs. The historic hot spring can be enjoyed in thirteen different ways of eight different types, which has long been a favorite of many people. Moreover, it presents a program that is unique to Matsumoto, the city of music. Different concerts are held in the lobby every night, allowing the flow of pleasant sounds to the ears. Let's enjoy some jazz and classical music while taking a vacation in Matsumoto.

Four types of rooms are available, and they are designed by arranging traditional crafts such as Jangji paintings dyed with Edo Suminagashi and Munsal Jangji evenly displayed throughout the space. On a spacious tatami, you can relax comfortably with your arms and legs stretched out to the full extent. A unique specialty, the bed is directly developed by Hoshino Resorts and contains the feeling of floating on a cloud of comfort. In addition to this, rooms with a view of the magnificent foothills of the Northern Alps are present. Let's have a proper repose while breathing according to the guidebook provided in the room.

Kai Matsumoto Restaurant serves Japanese Kaiseki cuisine using fresh Shinshu water and seasonal ingredients. You can enjoy delicious dishes that satisfies both the eyes and the palate simultaneously, paired with distinct wine from Shinshu area. Kai Matsumoto's breakfast is particularly noteworthy, with a Japanese table setting centered on "hoba miso," which is made by steaming on Japanese magnolia leaves with Shinshu miso featuring salmon, chicken, and mushrooms. For hot springs, various methods are available, such as open-air baths, indoor baths, radiant heat hot baths, and cypress sawdust baths. Drink quince tea after bathing to replenish your vitamins and rejuvenate your well-being.
