A Place to Share Goodness with Everyone
Hanyangdoseong, the fortress city wall in Seoul has quietly been standing for the past six centuries to protect the city for the past centuries. While the city wall served as the border from the areas outside of the capital of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty, the neighborhood has now become one of the busiest areas of the city. In the midst of the bustling city center, a place with tranquility and warmth, LEEJAE is ready to welcome its guests. The name – a Sino-Korean word meaning “a good place” - has been motivated from the host’s aspiration to offer a place to share goodness with whoever comes in to stay. Thus, the host sought to fill this relaxing place with good energy to share with guest.

LEEJAE is made up with two independent spaces. HOUSE 1 is bright with abundant sunlight coming through its large window which presents a quiet scene from the outside. The space is designed to be suitable for families or groups for a get together, as a foldable dining table is available for multiple number of guests. On the other hand, HOUSE 2 awaits for its visitors with an attic that looks like one found in a fairy tale. Staying cozy on a soft mattress under the soft lightings, you may spend some relaxing time. Both are wooden houses with history of many years, resembling much to quiet atmosphere surrounding the fortress wall. Yet these spaces have modern touches added to ensure convenience. And the interior is finished with materials to sprinkle the spaces with warmth and cozy atmosphere. Handcrafted furniture with various types of woods, including hinoki, teak and ash tree culminate the understated sophistication.

Quite fascinatingly, LEEJAE reveals different magnetism during the day and night. At the time everything turns dusky outside, the sunset spreads its beautiful oranges hues. The scenery around the fortress wall surrounded by grass fields, will turn panoramic. It will be a brilliant idea to enjoy some refreshing beer and music that goes well with the atmosphere and scenery. If you feel frustrated with too many things in your minds, you may take a walk around the neighborhood with beautiful stories of Seoul, including Cheongyecheon, Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Gwangjang Market. Experience of staying in LEEJAE would definitely spare you time to recharge yourself with fresh energy.
